ABOUT The Cuse Girl™

Born on Instagram in 2018, The Cuse Girl is now a full-fledged womanist online magazine dedicated to uplifting and amplifying the voices of Black women and girls in Syracuse, NY and surrounding areas.

Our mission is to build digital space where healing, joy, resistance, and community thrive. We publish stories that center our truths, challenge systems, and spark collective care.

Come sit with us. Through articles, mutual aid, and community storytelling, The Cuse Girl is where we name the harm, hold space for healing, and organize for better futures.

We are building our philanthropy arm ‘Cuse Girl Magic™ (launching soon) that includes a mutual aid fund to help alleviate some of the financial pitfalls Black women and girls face due to systematic oppression. This initiative also includes our #SayHerName Black Femicide in Syracuse Project and our upcoming book “‘Cuse Girl Magic: A Living Archive of Black Women in Syracuse, Vol 1” (Auntie’s Press. Fall 2028). Every donation, every purchase, and every share helps fund real needs for local Black women and girls.

We are also building the largest directory of Black female entrepreneurs in Central New York that will be powered by Sis That’s Your Business social network (join now for free!).
